![]() I recall the rebels on Dalek controlled earth asking Barbara if she could cook - but that’s not an unreasonable question for a group of male soldiers to ask a middle-aged lady. All the original Doctors were somewhat patronising to their companions. I struggle to think of examples of the First Doctor being particularly sexist. So although it's a myth, it’s a myth that stands in for a truth. But he did use a lot of pseudo-science and Jon Pertwee did tell a story about memorizing that particular phrase to the tune of "When I was a lad." from H.M.S Pinafore. Everyone knows that the Third Doctor used to say “Reverse the polarity of the neutron flow” a lot, even though in the actual scripts, he didn’t. There is such a thing as fan lore and folk memory. What I am confident that the First Doctor would not have done under those circumstances is threaten to spank a 28 year old stranger. To which Ian would have replied "Oh Doctor! If you had taught in a London secondary modern school, you would know that it is sometimes politic to go unaccountably deaf for a few seconds…"Īnd the Doctor would have gone "Hmm, hmm" and everyone would have laughed. But I imagine he would have said something like “Goodness gracious me! You will make me blush! I haven’t heard such words since I was on the lower decks of HMS Victory!” Mrs Whitehouse thought that even “bum” was crossing a line. In one sense it's a meaningless question: no-one could possibly have said “bloody” or “arse” on 1960s TV. It is impossible to know how the First Doctor would have reacted to swearing. But “How the Doctor came to see that Susan was no longer a little girl” is one of the things Dalek Invasion of Earth was about. You may think that shutting her out of the TARDIS at the end of the story is just as abusive as threatening to hit her at the beginning. But at the end of the story, he treats her like an adult, even though she is only seventeen. So at the beginning of the story, he treats Susan as if she is about twelve, even though she is seventeen. He mixes up his companion's names and can’t remember how to operate the TARDIS. The original series pitch used the word “senile”. ![]() Young people today may feel that it is not quite politically correct, or even decent, for stories to have overall narrative structures and for scenes to have points, but in those days everyone thought it was perfectly normal. The scene had a purpose within the overall structure of Dalek Invasion of Earth. This was the kind of thing embarrassing Dads said in those days. When he gets cross with her, he talks like a tetchy, old-fashioned, embarrassing, late-1950s Dad. But the Doctor is more or less Susan’s father. (All the bad lines in 60s Who were unscripted ad libs by William Hartnell, in the same way that all the bad lines in Shakespeare are interpolations by Middleton.) And it would have been better if Terry Nation had written “clip round the ear” or “thump” rather than “jolly good smacked bottom”. We would like to believe that the remark was an unscripted interjection by William Hartnell. You can see why the old boy might be a bit miffed, but we cringe when he threatens to spank her. In the first episode of Dalek Invasion Earth she recklessly causes a bridge to collapse, blocking off the only route back to the TARDIS. ![]() Canon be damned, the First Doctor is Susan’s grandfather: he has been in loco parentis for a number of years. In December 2018, parent organizations Fandom (formerly Wikia) acquired most of Curse Media, including Gamepedia (and Wowpedia with it). ![]() As part of the CC-BY-SA license used by both Wowpedia and WoWWiki, copying content between the two sites remained permitted so long as proper attribution was given. Changes were not automatically reflected in the other wiki, although some editors participating in both wikis made concurrent edits or mirrored changes from one to the other. Individual editors continued changing the two wikis independent of the other. In December 2014, Wowpedia's URL changed to, though links to Wowpedia in other channels (like the Twitter handle) continue to refer to the site using the old address.įrom 2010 until 2020, WoWWiki continued to operate albeit with a slower pace of contributions than its pre-fork state. Wowpedia merged with Curse's Gamepedia wiki-hosting platform in July 2013 in order to unify logins with the rest of the Curse network and simplify maintenance workloads on the backend. On 4 December 2010, the new World of Warcraft community site was announced on including mention that direct links to Wowpedia would appear on many pages along with Wowhead links. A cohort of non-employee admins and active users left for the new project, but some remained on WoWWiki instead. Thus at the launch of, the two wikis had identical content. The site was created by duplicating the database, including edit histories and user pages. As a result of that discussion, a fork of WoWWiki was created as Wowpedia ( ), with the new site being hosted by Curse and the new wiki becoming usable on 17 October 2010. However, Wikia still owned the domain name and intended to keep a copy of the site running even if it moved. As such, On 29 September 2010, discussion began on whether to leave Wikia due to irreconcilable differences with the administration. Three years later, Wikia implemented visual interface changes across its platform that broke some of WoWWiki's functionality and was poorly received by some of WoWWiki's community. This move occurred two weeks later and legal rights for the "" domain were transferred. On, it was announced that WoWWiki would be moving to Wikia. It was also a primary and popular source for World of Warcraft interface customization and addon information as Blizzard Entertainment themselves did not release documentation on the programming interface. To summarize, this case is relatively short (in height) and wide. The 120mm and 140mm top fan mounts are offset away from the motherboard tray by 5.25cm and 7.25cm respectively in an attempt to keep them from interfering with the motherboard that’s because the top edge of the motherboard is only about 2.5cm below the mounts. Note that this only applies to CLCs: open loop cooling is a different beast, and a 360mm radiator could be made to work. The largest CLC the case can truly support is a single 280mm unit at the top. ![]() There’s absolutely not enough room to mount a 360mm CLC and fans properly with tube-side-down at the front of the case, or even a 280mm, since the front I/O occupies a few key millimeters of space needed for the radiator. Since fans and radiators only fit on the inside of the case, that limits combined radiator/fan thickness at the level of the PSU shroud to 6cm at the absolute most, but we recommend against installing radiators down there at all. 120mm fans should be unaffected by this issue if they’re lined-up with the front panel cutouts: this is another case where the front panel has been designed around 120mm fans.įans can only be mounted on the inside of the chassis behind the front filter, which is another area (in addition to airflow) where “front-panel-is-the-filter” cases like the Cooler Master TD500 Mesh and Phanteks P400A have an advantage. Either way, the point stands: the brackets are delicate. Of the three cases we received, only one of them had this issue. When installing 140mm fans in this case, rotate the blades with a finger before turning the PC on to make sure the mounting bracket hasn’t warped inwards in a way that will clip the fan blades. The mounting points for front fans are extremely flexible and delicate, which is a tradeoff for the fact that they use little material and don’t overly obstruct airflow. There was one minor fit-and-finish flaw in our review sample, but it nearly broke one of the fans we use for testing. *Specs table copied directly from product page, please read review for our own measurements and opinions THE BUILD With all that effort, it’s somewhat surprising that the stock fans are just two plain black 120mm case fans-they don’t clash with the color scheme, but they are certainly a cost-cutting measure, especially compared to the RGB stock fans on the 4000X. A triangular motif is also present throughout the entire case, most impressively in the top filter, which has tiny triangular holes rather than the standard hexagonal ones. We have mixed feelings about the yellow accents scattered throughout the case, but they are at least consistent: yellow plastic washers under various thumbscrews, a yellow pull-tab on the top filter, and yellow USB type-A port on the front panel. Black is still the default, cheap-to-produce color for cases and case hardware, and Corsair has obviously worked hard to make this design possible at $80. Even some hidden elements like the plastic snaps that hold in the panels are color-matched: they’re gray on the white case and black on the black model. Corsair also color-matched the top surface of the magnets for the top filter so that they’re less visible, and the magnets are intentionally arranged so that they don’t line-up with radiator screws that might push it upwards. The glass is tinted for the black version and untinted for the white, with white masking around the border. Almost every part of the case is painted white or gray, including the borders of the glass panel, the rear PCIe slot covers, and all the externally-visible rivets on the rear panel. The white color scheme is well done, and the case’s appearance in general deserves discussion as Corsair has clearly devoted extra attention to it. The 4000D samples we were sent are both white, but they come in black as well. As of this writing, all 4000D SKUs are available for sale for $80. Companies like Phanteks and Cooler Master have sometimes handled situations like this by sending us multiple front panels, but Corsair is fighting hard to eliminate our last few square feet of storage space-we have all three. Today we’ll be covering the two 4000D variants, since they’re entirely identical other than the “front bezel” plate that ships with the enclosure. We’ve been sent three cases for review by Corsair: the 4000D, the 4000D Airflow, and the 4000X. When the seat is in use, the bag slides into the pocket underneath the seat. The Inglesina comes with a built-in storage bag that is attached to an inner pocket. It did support her and she appeared comfortable, but it would be fairly easy for her to climb out if she was not strapped in. We did place a 35lb three-year-old in the seat to ensure that it would support her weight. This disclaimer may simply be because a larger child is more capable of climbing out of a chair than a smaller one. However, the manual states that, for safety purposes, the seat should not be used by a child who can stand, which is clearly a milestone that would occur before a child turns three. The advertisement is somewhat misleading in size range, stating that it can hold a child up to 3 years old or weigh up to 37lb. However, we were pleased that the Inglesina was very secure and our one-year-old test subject appeared to be comfortable. We were a little hesitant testing a chair that screws onto a table, fearing that it would somehow be less stable or secure than one that rests on the ground or straps to an adult chair. Finally, we compared the age and size range that each seat could hold and measured if that information was accurate. We also ranked the straps based on their security and tested how comfortable the child appeared to be while sitting in the highchair. In this category, we measured the safety and sturdiness of each highchair. Though some complained that the tray did not lay flat on their table, we did not notice any issues with it being flush with the tabletop. The optional tray snaps into place over the top arms of the bracket. They also help the look of the chair aesthetically, but it is a little bit of a pain to have to remove and reattach the pockets each time the seat is installed and taken down. This offers some cushion in case a child bumps their legs into the brackets. Once installed, fabric pockets zip over the hanging part of the brackets. It can be tightened until fully stabilized. The top portion of the bracket slides over the top of a dining table and the bottom part of the bracket screws upwards until it meets the bottom side of the tabletop. Once we got the seat assembled, the actual installation process was pretty straightforward. Once the seat is fully assembled, it does not need to be taken apart again. The assembly process is a little bit confusing and the picture directions could have used some additional written instructions as well. The seat does come with an instruction manual which is pictures only. When the Inglesina is first unpackaged, it is fully disassembled. We did find the assembly steps to be a little confusing on the first attempt. It took us around six minutes to get the chair set up the first time. We measured how easy the Inglesina was to use based on the setup time, instruction manual, and overall user-friendliness. From timing the setup to having kids sit in them to smashing baby food into the chairs, we tested each one on its usability, design quality, cleanability, and portability. We read several buyer guides and critical reviews to determine the best criteria to test the chairs. We researched the highest ranked portable highchairs and purchased the top thirteen to test and compare. Even if you can install the seat brackets behind the box apron, it may still block the leg holes of the seat. It took us a few tries to find a compatible table. This box apron becomes an issue when installing the seat. Many standard dining tables include a hanging box apron, which creates a lip on the table. Our biggest issue with the Inglesina is that it is not practical for all table types. ![]() Neither of our test subjects leaned forward in the seat ![]() The seat says it can hold up to 37lb but also says it is not for children who can stand Our product included the tray upon arrival There was a small gap between the seat and the chair when the tray was not installed, but with the tray, the gap is covered When we installed the tray, it laid flat against the table Though our testing took place over a shorter period of time, we never felt that the chair was going to rip We felt that the straps were secured to the child very well and never felt like our test subjects would climb out We didn’t have any issues attaching the tray While we wish that the seat cover was machine washable, we found that any of the messes we made in the seat wiped clean fairly easily CriticismĪgreed, our biggest complaint about this seat is that it cannot easily be installed on a table with a box apron ![]() But we did read through all of them and compared the most common complaints to our experience while testing it. Compared to some other highchairs we tested, the Inglesina did not have too many critical reviews. ![]() Here are some of the features of RealPlayer: RealPlayer is also available for other operating systems Linux, Unix, Palm OS, Windows Mobile, and Symbian versions have been released.
